Add to your life expectancy with these health and fitness facts-
Exciting new research shows how you can possibly add more than 10 years to your life. The good news is that
these four healthy lifestyle changes that lead to a longer life are all within your control.
According to British researchers, overwhelming evidence has shown that making four simple lifestyle changes can contribute to a longer and healthier life. And the researchers have even quantified how much longer.
The researchers found that those who drink moderately, exercise, quit smoking and eat five servings of fruit and vegetables each day live on average 14 years longer than those who did none of the four.
In the study, 20,000 healthy British men and women (aged 45-79) were questioned about their lifestyles. The researchers tested their blood to measure vitamin C intake, an indicator of how much fruits and vegetables people ate.
The biggest health benefit was giving up smoking. That alone led to an 80 percent improvement in health. The next biggest health benefit was eating fruits and vegetables.
Small differences in your lifestyle can add up to a big difference in your overall health. Make these four healthy changes to your lifestyle, and you’ll add years to your life. But more importantly, you’ll improve the quality of your years.
