Target Heart Rate Calculator - Exercise Heart Rate - Heart Fitness

It is very important that you find your target heart rate, especially in the early stages of any cardio training fitness program. This will help you to avoid training too hard.

The common formula for finding your target maximum heart rate (which is the fastest your heart can pump) is 220 minus your age. But this is a very simplistic formula that does not take into consideration your age or fitness level. This Target Heart Rate Calculator will give you a general idea of what your exercise target heart rate range should be.

Find Your Target Heart Rate (THR) With This Heart Rate Calculator:

1. Enter Your Age

2. Click on Your Current Fitness Level:

Novice Level of Fitness - Very Little Fitness
Beginner Level of Fitness - Some Exercise

Remember the importance of exercising with intensity. However, you don't want to push yourself beyond the limit you should. Otherwise, you risk injury and burnout.

We recommend that you invest in a fitness heart rate monitor (such as one you strap on) for tracking and monitoring your exercise heart rate. Fitness heart rate monitors are fairly inexpensive, and they are a good investment in your health and fitness.
