While a water diet can be dangerous to your health (if it means avoiding nutrients that your body needs), water is an essential part of any healthy weight loss plan.

You could go several days without food. It wouldn't be healthy, but people who have been stranded in isolated places without food (or those on hungers strikes) have survived many days without food. But, you could not survive very long without water. Our bodies are comprised mostly of water - we cannot live without it.

Water plays an important role in your overall health and in any healthy weight loss program.

Use these weight loss tips to help you lose weight with water (rather than a water diet that is not based on the solid principles of healthy weight loss):

  • Drink a tall glass of water first thing when you get out of bed in the morning. Make this a habit every morning. It will pay big dividends in your overall health. We highly recommend this!

  • Drink eight glasses of water every day. This will not only help remove toxins from your system, it will also help you lose weight. This is a must if you are serious about healthy weight loss.

  • Substitute water for sodas, carbonated drinks, and energy drinks. You will lose weight, be healthier, and even save some money. Water will get you where you want to go with your weight loss program and your diet plan much faster than you can imagine. By drinking water instead of sodas and other carbonated drinks, you are reducing your daily calories and limiting unhealthy sugars in your system. Consuming sugar will only hurt your chances of weight loss.

  • If you really want quick weight loss, substitute water for coffee, Starbucks, lattes, iced tea, etc.

  • Limit your alcohol intake and drink more water in place of excess alcohol.

  • Don't cut out healthy juices when using water to help you lose weight. Drink juices such as orange juice, cranberry juice, grape juice, prune juice, apple juice, tomato juice. The cloudier the juice, the better. Avoid juices that have sugars added to them.

  • Drink water while you are exercising. This will help keep your body properly hydrated and improve the results of your weight loss program. Exercise regularly - we highly recommend exercising every day.

  • Drink water last thing before bed.

  • Get the proper nutrients each day. Avoid a water diet that keeps you from healthy weight loss. You can lose weight fairly quickly in a healthy way.

The idea is to drink water throughout the day. This will dramatically help you lose weight. But, make sure you are also eating nutritious meals during the day. If you are trying to lose weight by just drinking water and basically fasting most days, or trying for sudden weight loss you are going to do a lot of damage to your overall health and risk damage to your organs. Make sure you have a balanced diet.

Quick weight loss plans are often dangerous when they don't involve proper nutrition. This includes a water diet that deprives your body of proper nutrients. The goal is healthy weight loss.
